What are common problems with a Volkswagen DSG transmission?

DSGs can shudder, hesitate, shift late, or engage roughly. Low-speed shudder is a particular issue with Volkswagen's seven-speed dry-clutch DQ200. We recommend VW-specific diagnostics to separate clutch wear, fluid trouble, adaptation issues, and mechatronic faults. They can feel pretty similar behind the wheel.
